“Oh, I found people just like me!  I just love it!”

A group of teens and actors gather on the turf/set of "The Wolves"

YAC members meet the cast of “The Wolves” on set.

Connect, participate, and experience live theatre with new friends.

What is the Young Adult Council?

It’s a place for teens to meet other CNY students with an interest in theatre, have a voice in the programming designed for them, and explore how theatre impacts their lives. The program focuses on peer led discussion and events in addition to advocating for theatre and arts participation to fellow students. YAC members also get a free ticket to each show in the current Syracuse Stage season.

The Syracuse Stage Young Adult Council meets monthly on Sundays from 6-8 for workshops on varying theatre topics and attends each Syracuse Stage production as a group with a post show discussion free of charge. YAC members come from varying arts backgrounds, including people who neither perform or participate in theatre but enjoy watching shows and learning more about the process. We frequently collaborate with other teen arts councils including the Everson and Syracuse Orchestra.

Past theatre experience is not a requirement for joining YACs. We look for people who are eager to learn and expand their ideas and understanding of theatre and the arts.

Applications due September 18, 2024. If needed, interviews will be scheduled the week of September 23, 2024.

We are accepting applications for the Fall of 2024.
